April 11 was a flower-filled spring day for the winners of the Toluca Lake Garden Club’s fundraising raffle. LAPD Senior Lead Officer Rob Benavidez drew the winning ticket, purchased by Brooke and Leslye Gustat-Karzen, who will receive a floral arrangement each month for a year from Joey Chuy of Forget Me Not Florist in Toluca Lake.
The event was held at the TLGC monthly meeting at Lakeside Golf Club, following weeks of competitive ticket sales organized by fundraising chair Karen Rogers and her assistants, Robyn Allyn and Christy Noll. Member Shelly Zbornak sold the winning ticket, and member Robyn Allyn sold the most tickets. Proceeds from the raffle totaled in excess of $10,000 and will fund TLGC projects and the club’s annual CSU Northridge scholarship.
Special guests at the luncheon included California Garden Club District Director Rita Desilets and florist Joey Chuy.
