Toluca Lake Gateway Rededication

by Toluca Lake Magazine | September 24, 2018

Ribbon Cutting
The rededication ceremony was attended by Councilmember David Ryu, Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian, NBCUniversal representatives and members of local organizations. Photos by Daniel Deitch.

On July 18, the Toluca Lake Community Beautification Partners — a joint effort of the Chamber of Commerce, Homeowners Association, Neighborhood Council and Garden Club, with funding from NBCUniversal — unveiled their first project, the improvement of the median on Riverside Drive at Placidia Avenue that welcomes visitors to the area. Originally enlarged and enhanced by the Chamber in 2005 with a monument designed by late naturalist and artist Philip di Giacomo, the site has been revamped with a solar-powered irrigation system, low-voltage uplighting, native plants and fresh ground cover. At the ribbon-cutting, Chamber President Jon Molin recognized Paulanna Cuccinello for helping to spearhead the project and thanked NBCUniversal on behalf of the entire community for the generous contribution that made the improvements possible.
