After 12 years of planning and hard work, the Cusumano Real Estate Group welcomed 400 locals, including six former mayors, for the premiere of Talaria Burbank, the new shopping and residential complex in the heart of the Media District. The February 27 Roaring 20s–themed party featured classic cocktails, savory bites, entertainment, live music and a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the official opening of the five-story mixed-use building.
Already home to a Whole Foods Market that launched in summer 2018, Talaria is Burbank’s only LEED Gold Certified residential community, with green features such as electric vehicle charging stations, on-site bike maintenance and repair, energy-efficient appliances and windows, and low-VOC carpets and paints. Inhabitants of its 241 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments will also enjoy a host of amenities including a private fitness club, swimming pool, spa, movie screening room, blow-dry salon, wine storage and concierge service. The gardens offer fire pits, barbecues, cabanas and a private dog park.
The project had to be cobbled together from 24 individual parcels of land, and its development spanned the tenures of five different city managers, as well as the 2008 financial crisis. At the ceremony, Michael Cusumano paid tribute to the vision and resolve of the hundreds of people who contributed to making it a reality at long last.
The family-owned Cusumano Group has been a leader in developing, acquiring and managing real estate in the San Fernando Valley since 1959, as well as a significant civic and philanthropic contributor in and around the Burbank area.
