Food, fellowship and fun for all ages were once again on the menu at Toluca Lake’s 15th annual Old-Fashioned Pancake Breakfast, presented by the Toluca Lake Chamber of Commerce and LAFD Fire Station #86. Held on May 12 in honor of Fire Service Day, the event educated residents about fire safety and connected community members with the firefighters who keep our neighborhood safe, with all proceeds benefiting the fire station and the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund.
In addition to serving up heaping helpings of pancakes and other breakfast treats, the morning included guided tours of the station, live music, raffle prizes and special guests. Among the many sponsors were NBCUniversal, Craig Strong, Tina Smith Homes, Ramsey-Shilling Associates, Century West BMW, Hampar Properties, the Toluca Lake Tennis and Fitness Club, Metropolis/Electra Bicycle Company, the Toluca Lake Homeowners Association, the Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council and a host of other local businesses and organizations.
In total, the Pancake Breakfast has flipped more than 100,000 flapjacks since its inception. Thanks to all the volunteers and supporters who help our community recognize the tireless work of our firefighters year after year with this cherished tradition!
