I’ve lived in the Toluca Lake area since 2009. We love the small-town feel in the heart of L.A., and the awesome main street filled with great restaurants. It is also very central to everything for us. I also love it because Toluca Lake was founded in 1923 and that’s my favorite number, since I was born on the 23rd, and so was our daughter, Vivienne, and superstar Miley Cyrus (a Toluca Lake resident), whom I have made a few jewelry pieces for, including a “23” diamond pendant.
Now, we are doing our part by staying home and only leaving to get food and take our daughter out on walks to get some fresh air and some exercise. Walks in the neighborhood are filled with positive energy through the welcoming smiles, hellos and respecting the six-foot space regulation from our fellow neighbors. We are doing a lot of spring cleaning, which keeps us really busy. Working from home with a baby has definitely been a challenge, but we are grateful to still have our jobs and our health. We FaceTime, Zoom and use the Houseparty app daily with friends and family to stay connected and for everyone to see baby Vivienne’s milestones!
When going out to either shop or walk, everyone is so supportive and pleasant during this difficult time. I see many houses putting out care packages for delivery companies, and everyone respects the 6-feet-apart and mask rules.
We are all in this together and we will be OK!
