Toluca Lake Beautification Partners (TLBP) has two active projects in Toluca Lake, both of which focus on community enhancements to the public realm on Riverside Drive in the Village area (Sancola Avenue to Clybourn Avenue): the Toluca Lake Village clock and Riverside Drive streetscape, Phase 3.
Toluca Lake Village Clock
Project Scope: Comprehensive enhancement to the public parkway along Riverside Drive between the Wells Fargo and Chase Bank properties by installing a new community identity marker — a Village clock. The area will be transformed from its present state of landscaping and signage into a community gathering space, with two new seating areas, lighting, specialty paving and a clock that will be lit at night, chime and play music.
Partners: TLBP, Toluca Lake Chamber of Commerce, Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council (GTLNC), Toluca Lake Homeowners Association, Toluca Lake Garden Club, Council District 4, L.A. City Public Works Office of Community Beautification, Chase Bank, A&D Design, Nature-Scape and Verdin Clock Company.
Sponsors and Donors/Call to Action: TLBP will be initiating a campaign to fund the Toluca Lake Village clock. We look forward to engaging with our local civic and private partners, corporate sponsors and families who wish to memorialize their part in beautifying our wonderful community and creating more spaces in which to engage.
Riverside Drive Streetscape Planning, Phase 3
Project Scope: Phase 3 of streetscape planning on Riverside Drive (Sancola to Clybourn) will focus on design elements, with input from the community, resulting in a defined scope and budget and making it eligible for regional, local and state grants. A survey will be released soon to engage our community in offering their voice on the streetscape elements and design of Riverside Drive.
