The Toluca Lake Garden Club held a community outreach event on May 16 to promote neighborhood beautification and local education. The club collected donations of more than 100 books on gardening and related topics for a new section of the Toluca Lake Elementary School library, with the goal of sparking students’ lifelong interest in plants and the environment. The event also included one of the club’s famously delicious bake sales, with proceeds funding the replanting of the Riverside Drive median. Toluca Lake Elementary School principal Jeff Daniel and City Councilmember Nithya Raman and her family were among the many community members who stopped by to socialize and show their support.
