On June 20, the Toluca Lake Homeowners Association hosted a donation drive to benefit two local organizations dedicated to helping pets. Thanks to the generosity of neighborhood residents, 700 pounds of food and treats and 200 pounds of cat litter were collected for The Rescue Train’s Pet Pantry, which helps seniors, low-income families and the homeless to care for their animal companions. In addition, the drive gathered 200 pet toys (including some crafted from old T-shirts by participants at the event), more than 100 blankets and towels, and dozens of food bowls, carriers, beds and grooming supplies for the East Valley Animal Shelter.
