While dreams of a white Christmas may not come true for those in sunny L.A. this holiday season, The Front Yard — located inside The Garland hotel in North Hollywood — has the next best option with its unique, holiday-themed take on the classic White Russian cocktail. The I’m Dreaming of a White Russian “warms up the traditional recipe with holiday flavors of eggnog, ginger, cinnamon and molasses,” says Mitch Johnston, The Garland’s associate director of marketing. A huge hit among regulars and first-timers alike, the I’m Dreaming of a White Russian is specific to the season and is often featured in December alongside other holiday favorites such as Noggy or Nice and Yule Shoot Your Eye Out cider. “This cocktail has been a favorite at The Front Yard as guests enjoy our patio in the warm glow of our twinkle lights,” Johnston says.
While you can certainly enjoy this creamy, rich drink outside by the restaurant’s cozy fireplace, the experts at The Front Yard have generously explained how to make the recipe at home. After a quick run to the grocery store and following the directions step by step, you’ll be feeling the holiday spirit in no time!
