The Toluca Lake Garden Club celebrated its 75th anniversary with a tea on September 8, toasting the commitment of members past and present to beautifying Toluca Lake and the many ways in which the club has contributed to the community over the years. Attendees included current president Leslie Gores and four past presidents, Shirley Duenckel, Judy Holliday, Nan Christian and Robyn Allyn. (Two additional past presidents, Tippi Pyle and Natalie Bloxham, were recognized in absentia.) In addition to a beautiful tea service, the event featured a fashion show, with members modeling clothes from Riverside Drive boutique Rose & Sage. The Toluca Lake Trader Joe’s provided flowers to adorn the tables.
“Clubs are amazing things — people coming together with a shared vision, knowing that the world is a better place for their dedication and work,” Gores says, reflecting on the milestone’s significance. “We are a group of people who form a unique blend that has and always will have a real and lasting impact on this community. We are enthusiastically looking forward to the future of the Garden Club!”
