Members of the Toluca Lake Chamber of Commerce came together on December 12 to celebrate the many successes of 2023, network, welcome incoming officers and plan for future accomplishments. The private, members-only event, which was held at the iconic Universal Studios backlot and hosted by NBCUniversal, included a distinguished guest list, including L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, City Council President Paul Krekorian, Gabriela Agarie from the office of Congressman Tony Cárdenas and honorary mayor Fritz Coleman. The event centered on discussing past accomplishments, recognizing some of the longtime volunteers and sharing plans for 2024.
“The best part of the event was having our merchants and restaurant owners gather together to learn about Toluca Lake’s past and present plans, as well as its great accomplishments in 2023,” Chamber past president Erick Garcia says. “In 2023, we celebrated Toluca Lake’s centennial at our Celebration Stage during the annual Holiday Open House event. We also had over half a dozen grand-opening events in Toluca Lake, hosted by the Chamber, as well as a visit from Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass to announce an executive directive to support local businesses, which was hosted by Red Maple, a Chamber member.”
Garcia adds that the Chamber saw a huge increase in membership last year as “more of our local merchants and restaurants recognize the importance of working together to enhance Toluca Lake for our visitors.”
