Families from throughout the Toluca Lake area gathered on December 10 to enjoy the Toluca Lake Jewish Festival and Chanukah Party, which included a moving menorah-lighting ceremony; a delicious spread featuring hot soup, crispy latkes and mouthwatering jelly doughnuts; and a much-anticipated Chanukah gelt drop from the ladder of a fire truck, in collaboration with Fire Station 60 of North Hollywood.
Live music also filled the air, creating a festive atmosphere that had everyone tapping their feet and singing along. Attendees were treated to a special guest appearance from honorary mayor Fritz Coleman, who added to the excitement of the evening.
“I’m so grateful to live in a community that is so welcoming and allows us to share our Jewish pride,” Rabbi Moishe Carlebach of Chabad of Toluca Lake says. “Everyone felt a sense of pride and was thrilled to join in on the celebration. We look forward to growing the event even more in the future.”
