Conducting thorough market research to assess demand for the type of property you plan to develop is essential. You also need to assess the development potential of the property in terms of its size, shape and configuration. And you need to evaluate the financial feasibility of the project, including land acquisition costs, development expenses and construction costs.
What is one of your most memorable client stories?
I worked with a client who was looking to buy his first home right around the time he was getting ready to propose to his girlfriend. He held off on the proposal for months until we could find him the perfect home. The day we delivered the keys, I helped him hire a team to set up a romantic scene for a perfect proposal. He brought his girlfriend to show the new house, I handed them the keys and as they walked into a beautifully decorated entryway, he got down on one knee and proposed. They now have two kids in the same house, we still keep in touch and they always cherish the beautiful memory that we created together for them.

The opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives. Whether it’s helping a first-time buyer find their dream home, guiding a seller through the process of selling their property or facilitating the development of a new community space, every transaction is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. I also enjoy the dynamic nature of the real estate industry — no two days are ever the same, and each new project brings its own set of challenges and opportunities.
