The Chabad of Toluca Lake hosted a Chanukah celebration in the Village on December 29, drawing around 100 attendees for an evening of music, food, entertainment and tradition.
The event, which honored local firefighters from Fire Station 60 and featured a gelt drop from the ladder of a fire truck, took on additional meaning after wildfires raged across Southern California just over a week later.
“Seeing the community of Toluca Lake come together, regardless of background, to share in this beautiful tradition is incredibly inspiring,” Rabbi Moishe Carlebach says. “Looking back and seeing the sacrifice these firefighters went through and were willing to make for our community made it even more special for us.”
