The Toluca Lake and Burbank chambers of commerce joined forces to hold a mixer at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center’s Polo Room on April 3, bringing the neighboring business communities together for an evening of fun, conversation and connection.
It was the largest mixer either chamber has ever hosted, and with nearly 200 attendees, “the energy in the room was incredible,” Toluca Lake Chamber president Taylor Montana shares. Guests snacked and sipped while participating in raffles, networking with fellow entrepreneurs and forging new friendships.
Fittingly for an event centered on making connections, “this came together as a true collaboration,” Montana explains. “We’d been talking with the Burbank Chamber about doing something a little different, and the Equestrian Center offered a unique venue that felt fresh while still being right here in our shared backyard. It was also a chance for people to learn more about the facility, which a lot of attendees hadn’t visited before.” Although it’s been a premier hub for local horse lovers for more than 40 years, the center began a new era in early 2024 as management company ASM Global took the reins, committed to improving the facilities and opening them to the community for special events.
Chambers of commerce are about individual businesses coming together to support each other and advocate for their interests with a collective voice, and the mixer demonstrated how that effect can be amplified when two organizations partner to achieve their common goals on a larger scale. “The drinks and food were great, but what really made the night special was the turnout,” Montana points out. “It showed that when we work together, we can create something bigger than either of us could on our own. We’re definitely planning more joint events like this in the future.”
