Toluca Lake’s cherished Fourth of July parade returned this year with more neighbors, more decorations and even more community spirit. Residents turned out in force, transforming the streets into a sea of patriotic colors as bikes, scooters, golf carts and tiny electric cars rolled by.
The event was co-organized by Alessandra Torresani, Kristen Dees and Daniella Garcia, building on the foundation laid by original organizers Sherry Corday, Silvia Baker and Markie Post.
“People really showed their support for this special holiday and our special community,” Torresani says. “We were honored again to have local Toluca Lake neighbor Dweezil Zappa perform, Kevin Dees and his ice cream truck and a wonderful community who came together to raise money for Ryan Morris and his family.”
Special guest Wonder the Cow also made a fashionable appearance in his Independence Day best, delighting paradegoers of all ages. Kids lined the streets selling lemonade, collecting stickers from local police officers and climbing aboard fire trucks for photos.
“Toluca Lake always provides that safe space for us to come together and create those small-town memories,” Torresani says. “Thank you to the community — you’ve made my daughter Lady’s childhood so magical. See you next year!”
