Toluca Lake residents gathered for a day of fitness, fun and giving back at the inaugural Health Fair hosted by the Toluca Lake Chamber of Commerce, which united more than 35 local businesses and nonprofits to promote a healthier community. Families cheered on their kids in a health and fitness challenge sponsored by Vanguard Home Health, enjoyed healthy bites from Gelson’s and received free mammograms sponsored by Red Maple, Logix and The Pink Journey Foundation. Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center also offered vital screenings, while Kaiser Permanente provided flu shots.
Speakers included Assemblymember Nick Schultz, Councilmember Adrin Nazarian and 13-year-old food allergy advocate Zacky Muñoz.
The event also marked the debut of Heartbeat Harry, Toluca Lake’s newest mascot, and a silent auction that raised $4,000 for local nonprofits including Kids’ Community Dental Clinic, Leeza’s Care Connection, Convalescent Aid Society and The Pink Journey Foundation.
