Campaign Lets Community Leave a Lasting Legacy

by Toluca Lake Magazine | March 27, 2026

When the long-awaited Toluca Lake Village clock was unveiled last year, it became a new local landmark and community hub on Riverside Drive. The initiative was made possible by Toluca Lake Beautification Partners (TLBP) and reflects the organization’s broader efforts to create lasting, place-defining public improvements in the Village. Now, the organization is spearheading a new fundraiser that invites residents, businesses and civic leaders to leave a lasting legacy while making a transformative impact on the neighborhood.

The Village Clock Brick Campaign allows locals to sponsor an engraved brick featuring a name, short message or commemoration of their choosing, and select its location in the new Village clock plaza. “The campaign connects personal stories and neighborhood pride with a highly visible community landmark, reinforcing the clock plaza as both a gathering place and a symbol of Toluca Lake’s shared history and future,” TLBP chair Ryan Altoon explains.

Proceeds from the campaign directly support TLBP’s ongoing, mission-driven initiatives, including streetscape enhancements, landscaping, pedestrian safety improvements, public amenities and future beautification projects throughout the Village. “It is a tangible way for residents and supporters to invest in the quality of the public realm while being recognized as part of Toluca Lake’s civic fabric — one brick at a time,” Altoon adds.

The fundraiser will remain open while brick inventory lasts, and early participation is encouraged to ensure inclusion in the plaza’s initial installation and dedication.

“This campaign is as much about community participation as it is about fundraising. Every brick helps tell the story of Toluca Lake — past, present and future — while supporting a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to thoughtful, lasting neighborhood improvements,” Altoon says. “It is a unique opportunity to contribute to a meaningful civic project and leave a visible legacy in the heart of the Village.”
