Toluca Lake residents put on their patriotic best, decorated bikes and scooters, dressed up pets, grabbed flags and took to the streets to commemorate America’s 250th birthday with an extra-special Fourth of July parade. Begun more than 30 years ago as a spontaneous procession of a few families, the event has grown into a beloved annual tradition that unites neighbors to celebrate the stars and stripes with small-town spirit. This year’s march through the neighborhood concluded in the parking lot at Sweetsalt for an Independence Day festival sponsored by local businesses and community partners.
