When their mother passed away after giving birth, Aero and his seven littermates were placed in foster homes with the help of local nonprofit the Canine Condition Foundation. Six months later, he and the group’s founder crossed paths again when he was ready to be neutered, and she discovered he was the only puppy who hadn’t yet been adopted. He spent the night at her Toluca Lake home before his surgery, and the whole family (including their three resident dogs) fell in love with the sweet, goofy husky–shepherd/boxer–pit-bull mix. They soon adopted him, and Aero is now a familiar figure in the neighborhood. He loves strolling along Riverside Drive, whether it’s running errands, stopping by local shops or grabbing ice cream and pup cups, as friends old and new stop to say hello to this happy, friendly oversized puppy.
Toluca Lake loves its animal residents, and they deserve the spotlight too! If you want to share your pet’s tale, send a photo and brief description to stories@tolucalake.com and we might feature it online or in an upcoming issue.
