Chris Lukather

About Chris Lukather

Chris Lukather is a fifth-generation Californian who was born in Burbank. He is the author of several books on midcentury home designers and builders in Southern California, including A Birdhouse in Paradise: William Mellenthin and the San Fernando Valley Ranch Homes, The Cinderella Homes of Jean Vandruff and his latest, Homes by Byrd: The Art and Architecture of Robert Byrd and His Son Gary. Chris is a CalArts graduate, a graphic designer and the editor of the quarterly literary journal The Writing Disorder.

Bobbi Boyle released two full-length jazz/pop albums in the late 1960s. My mom would go see her sing and play piano, either at the Money Tree in Toluca Lake, Chadney’s in Burbank or the Smoke House in Encino.
