Sunday Afternoon Jazz Salon at El Portal

At the young age of 77 years, master drummer and proud veteran Michael Carvin offers vibrant, live music from his latest recording “Art of the Trio” by The Michael Carvin Experience through MCE Music. The concert will include a collection of stellar arrangements from the American Songbook bringing the presentation of the Trio format back to the scene through class and sophistication.

Released in June 2022, the MCE will present music from the critically acclaimed album as well as new material during the residency for all audiences to enjoy.

As Monk might have said, the show will be Straight, No Chaser. That is, undiluted, un-cut jazz without the distraction of food service, waiters, noisy diners or any other elements that might take away from the mastery onstage.
