Toluca Lake Multicultural Book Club

In response to a traumatic and divisive year, the neighboring Toluca Lake community recently formed the “Greater Toluca Lake Minority Initiative.” One of the creative initiatives springing forth is the launch of a book club that will meet online monthly – to help bridge divides, lift up Black voices, and stand in gaps of racial injustice and religious bigotry. The hope is that through the reading and discussion of inclusively diverse books, there will be a better connection with one another while also raising cultural awareness.

At the first meeting, which is slated for Wednesday, November 4th at 6 pm, the book of focus will be Brit Bennett’s acclaimed “The Vanishing Half.” Register HERE. As the meeting date approaches, a Zoom invite will be sent.
